4 Miles from ALSTON, 9 miles from HADRIAN's WALL Slaggyford is situated in Tynedale, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. In our garden our regular visitors include all the finches you can think of, robins and wrens, a woodpecker and and a cock pheasant. Nearby you can see the buzzards, lapwings and curlews. A short walk away is the South Tyne where you can get a day ticket to fish the salmon and trout if the herons don't beat you to it! If you are patient you may see red squirrels and deer in the woods.
